here Comes the Sun

PRESENT
27 May 2025
19:00 - 20:00
The Crooked Cue
3056 Bloor Street West
The roof was open at the Crooked Cue, the sun was shining and the vibe was positive as over 60 new and familiar members gathered for our Spring meeting.
We kicked things off by introducing our new steering committee members:
Janelle Blair, Danielle Bianco, Kate Brundage, Kathy Kruk, Karen Hales, Patty Lindsay and Renette Bourgeois
Last Month’s Recipient Presentation
Kindred Kitchen (@kindredkitchen.ruc): January 2025 Recipient of $9,400
Carolyn shared how grateful her team of kitchen volunteers is for the new freezer and oven made possible by our contribution. Each Sunday, Kindred Kitchen serves hot lunches to more than 150 guests, offering not only a nourishing meal but also a safe, welcoming space to rest and connect.
The Impact:
· The larger freezer allows bulk purchasing at lower costs
· The new stove increases efficiency, making service smoother and faster
Carolyn and Tammy also gave a special thanks to the 12 volunteers from our 100 Women membership who spent a Saturday morning baking 200 homemade muffins for the guests. For many who don’t have a home, something homemade is a rare and meaningful treat.
